Airports are built as hubs to facilitate
the processing of passengers from one mode of transport to another mode.
They represent the center of many activities related to the aircraft
operations including landing, parking, loading, preparation for flight,
take-off, etc.
Airports can have wide and big halls and concourses or small size ones. They can be constructed in open lands but they can still be required to be built in limited and tight spots. They can accommodate big aircraft, small aircraft or both types together. Airports are built according to a Master Plan that covers all details and requirements for the time being and the future. Airport terminals are constructed in one level or more levels as needed. Runways and taxiways may differ enormously in size, direction and layout. Airports can operate only in daytime and clear weather or can be operated in day and night and in bad weather. They need equipment of different levels. They need power supply, navigation equipment, landing aids, lighting, land control, drainage, fuel depots, etc. The list stands with no end. All airports require one basic thing; The right and good consultant. We, The Iraqi Aviation Consultants group, are here to help you in all stages of airport life, starting with site selection, basic studies, airport master planning, detail design, supervision of construction, equipment selection, installation and testing, initial operation, training of personnel, supervision of operation, maintenance of facilities, setting the emergency plan, operations plan and manuals, etc. You name it and we will be ready to offer it at the highest possible level. Our coordinator, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Wandawi, a consultant engineer who worked with the Civil Aviation Authority of Iraq for long years and held the position of Director general of Civil Airports in 1981.
